The Dondurma story

Dondurma is a store exclusive for Secreto Cigar Bar in Ferndale, MI. “Dondurma is a strange, but delicious ice cream invented by the Turks and sold throughout the Middle East. It has an odd taffy like consistency, it is actually chewy and does not melt. Crafted and served by street vendors. I first experienced it while in the Navy ported in the seaside resort city of Antalya, Turkey. As soon as I finished this “odd” blend it instantly reminded me of Dondurma – creamy, familiar and delicious, yet at the same time so different.” - Steve Saka The cigar is made up of an Ecuadorian habano “double dark rosado” wrapper from La Meca, a Mexican San Andrés negro “cultivo tonto” binder and three tobaccos sourced from Nicaragua: a five-year-old hybrid criollo ligero from Estelí, corojo 98 viso from Estelí and criollo 99 seco from Jalapa. A second version of Dondurma known as the Golden Child, which has a completely different blend than the original as described by Steve: Capa: La Meca Ecuador Habano Double Dark Rosado Capote: San Andreas Negro “Cultivo Tonto” Tripa: US Lancaster Seedleaf Seco; Nicaraguan Esteliano C98 Viso; Nicaraguan Gadalupe C99 Viso; Nicaraguan Aganorsa Ligero
CigarShare users' verdict

The Dondurma impresses with a consistently sweet and creamy profile anchored by vanilla and chocolate notes, complemented by pleasant gingersnap and cookie dough accents throughout the smoking experience. While the burn can occasionally be uneven, the effortless draw and overall flavor complexity make this a reliably enjoyable offering.
