The La Mission story
In 2015, L’Atelier released La Mission with the intent of honoring a certain beverage producer and some important years to that company. The information was initially released with the cigars. However, since that time Pete has stated in an interview that L’Atelier is no longer discussing the meaning of the cigars. That request is honored here. Presumably, the company being honored requested that Pete not make further reference to it. The cigars are all produced in Nicaragua with Nicaraguan binders and fillers wrapped in Mexican San Andres. L’Atelier has stated that the blend does use Sancti Spiritus in the blend. They are sold in varnished 18 count hinged lid boxes. All cigars are box pressed and feature a pig-tail cap (except the torpedo). The bands feature gold embossing on a cream background with a bold red “M” in the center.
CigarShare users' verdict
L'Atelier's La Mission delivers earthy and leathery notes with secondary hints of cocoa powder and wood, creating a straightforward profile that occasionally ventures into spice territory. The cigar maintains a generally normal draw, though burn characteristics can be inconsistent from one experience to the next.
