The Ambos Mundos Habano story
Ambos Mundos means, “both worlds” in Spanish. Not surprisingly, it also has ties to Cuba. The Ambos Mundos Hotel in Havana is a classic hotel that famously was Ernest Hemingway’s first residence in Cuba. Pete has said that this is an old Cuban brand that he has resurrected and used some of the original artwork in the packaging.
Ambos Mundos cigars feature the same blend for binder and filler with two different wrappers. All vitolas contain Nicaraguan binders and fillers. They are produced in Nicaragua and the Habano versions feature an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper while the Sumatras feature a Sumatra wrapper. They come in nailed lid boxes of 25. They were introduced in 2009. Each wrapper type has its own band. The bands are gold embossed and the Habano blend has a red background with the word Habano on it and the Sumatra blend has a burnt orange background with the word Sumatra on it.
